In
1955, the elder son of Hacigokmens, Ahmet Gokgul, laid the
foundations of Ravza by starting a small restaurant serving
merchants. This restaurant operated at several locations
in Alanya until 1980.
In
1980 the name of the restaurant became Ravza Lahmacun ve
Pide Salonu and the menu served has changed. The main items
on the menu became lahmacun, which is a special Turkish
fast-food with spicy meat on thin round bread, and varieties
of pide, which is the traditional Turkish pizza served with
different toppings. By then, it was a 12 m2 shop with only
three tables to serve. Today, Ravza is a 280 m2, 3 floor
restaurant with a serving capacity of 250 people.
The
people of Alanya knew nothing about lahmacun and pide, since
these were not the local dishes of this region. It took
us 3 years to introduce this different taste by giving free
samples in the streets and on puplic transportion vehicles.
Our
secand branch started operating in 1993 on Hayate Hanim
St, offering additional varieties from the delicious Turkish
kitchen. After the death of our father, the founder of Ravza,
in 1992, we, his four sons, took charge of the business.
Today,
we also serve doner, grills, and other Turkish specials
on the menu in addition to lahmacun and pide.
